  • Advanced Shotgun Skills

    Overview

    A progressive and flexible programme to introduce students to all aspects of their chosen discipline; from rules to developing skills and techniques to improve scores.

    Aim

    A discipline specific course for Shotgun certificate holders to improve your skills and ability in your chosen discipline. The course includes lunch and up to 100 clays and cartridges.

    Prerequisites

    Must hold a current Shotgun Certificate. The course is open to anyone aged 16 or over whether you are a 草莓appmember or not. If you're not a member or don't have an account with our website yet please click on 'Create an account' to register during your booking.

  • Referee Training Course

    Overview

    Available in each of the four domestic disciplines of English Sporting, English Skeet, Down the Line and Automatic Ball Trap, these one-day courses will equip you with the general and discipline specific rules to enable you to referee regularly at registered competitions or national championships and, with it, the assurance that what you are calling is correct. This is also an excellent course for the competitor who doesn't necessarily want to referee, but does want to ensure that they know the rules when they compete.

    Aim

    To successfully qualify as a 草莓appreferee. If successful the candidate will have the necessary knowledge to referee at 草莓appregistered events. They will also be awarded a certificate and both a cloth and metal badge.

    Prerequisites

    Candidates must be 草莓appmembers and a minimum of 18 years of age. A 草莓appReferee only membership is available for current non-members via http://www.cpsa.co.uk/membership or contact HQ on 01483 485400 for assistance. Referee Membership cards will be issued on successful completion of the course. Please note, it is not a requirement to be a Shotgun Certificate holder to attend this course!

  • Level 1 - Instructor Training Course

    Overview

    This course will teach you how to check eye dominance and gun fit, show you how to teach the 草莓appMethod and how to recognise shooting errors and correct them. The course lasts for four days and consists of classroom time, off-and on-range workshops and a final day of assessments. For the Level 1 Instructor Training Course, the criteria for qualification is that the candidate can get a novice to hit a moving target safely using the 草莓appMethod.

    Aim

    To provide the candidate with the required knowledge, procedures and skills, and to assess their ability, to safely teach beginners how to shoot using the 草莓appMethod.

    Prerequisites

    Minimum of 2 years shooting experience; Have attended an Instructor Development Workshop within the previous 2 years; Have qualified as a Safety Officer within the previous 5 years; Must hold a shotgun certificate. Please note: Any Military courses listed below are for serving military personnel only and proof of service will be required.

  • Safety Officer Requalification Exam

    Overview

    The Safety Officer qualification provides the basis for running a safe and successful shooting ground and looks at safe gun handling, layout management, risk assessments etc. An obvious choice for ground owners and prerequisite to Club Affiliation, it also appeals to the shooter and is the first step to our higher Instructor & Coaching qualifications.

    Aim

    To re-qualify to act as a Range Safety Officer at 草莓appAffiliated Clubs & Grounds.

    Prerequisites

    Candidates must be 草莓appmembers and previously qualified as a 草莓appSafety Officer. This is an online exam only and can be taken at any point up to the 30th November 2025 latest.
