The World English Sporting Championship returns to in High Wycombe from 12th – 19th July 2025 and once again, we can look forward to a true festival of shooting.
This event alternates every year between the ²ÝÝ®appin England and the in the USA. It attracts competitors from all over the world and is open to shooters of all levels.
Alongside the 200-target main championship, there will be the World Sportrap, the 100-target open Prelim and a 100-target Registered Super Sporting plus various pool shoots to keep you entertained between rounds.

The Events:
World English Sporting: £195 (200 targets) Saturday 12th - Saturday 19th
A 200-target shoot shot over your choice of two days (either 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19th July). The Opening Ceremony, where we welcome teams from all around the world will take place Thursday 17th. There will be a 25-target Super Final on Saturday (19th) afternoon, where the top six shooters (shoot-offs in case of ties) will compete for the title. Prize giving and closing party to follow.
World Sportrap: £80 (100 targets) Saturday 12th - Friday 18th
A 100-target competition shot from 13-18th July, with shoot-offs and prize giving taking place on Friday, 18th July.
British Open Super Sporting: £80 (100 targets) Sunday 13th - Friday 18th
A 100-target Registered shoot shot from 13-18th July, with shoot-offs and prize giving taking place on Friday, 18th July.
Preliminary English Sporting £75 (100 targets) Saturday 13th. Monday 14th - Thursday 17th
A 100-target Open shoot available to shoot on Saturday 12th, and also from 14-17th July, with shoot-offs taking place on Thursday, 17th July. Though called 'Preliminary' this event is not required to qualify for the World English Sporting Championship.
The Prizefund:
Thanks to the generous support of our event sponsors, shooters can look forward to an estimated Prizefund of £50,000 across the competitions.

We will pay down to at least 10th place in all classes.
Scores, Shoot-Offs & Prizegivings
If you shoot well enough to place in your class or category, we kindly ask that you keep a close eye on live scoring via the and any announcements throughout the week. If you are required for a shoot-off or prizegiving, it’s vital you are available at the appropriate time. Please remember, any winners of sponsored prizes must be present at the prize giving to receive sponsored prizes.

Don’t miss the Yanks vs Brits shoot-off on Thursday afternoon – always a crowd favourite! Spectators are very welcome, so bring your flags and support your team.

Competitor Check-In & Transport
All competitors must check in with the ²ÝÝ®appreception team each morning on the day(s) they are shooting. We kindly ask that you check in at least one hour before your scheduled shooting time to allow for smooth registration.
Please note that minibuses will be running regularly to take shooters from the main ground out to the Sporting courses located across the E.J. Churchill estate. It is essential that you allow enough time to get across to your allocated course.
Parking
All parking is clearly signposted. Please only park where directed by event staff or signage - this is critical to ensure smooth access for competitors, spectators, and emergency services throughout the week.
Gun storage will be available at the ground during the event, please see details below.

Cartridges are available for pre-order via E.J Churchill.
A range of cartridges will be available to purchase on-site at E.J. Churchill. If you are shooting two events in one day, please bring sufficient cartridges with you to your starting area. You may not have enough time between events to return to your vehicle and replenish.

For those attending the event we recommend , located 10 minutes from E.J. Churchill and 1 minute from the M40.

Competitors coming from overseas will need to apply for a Visitor's Shotgun Permit in order to bring their own shotgun, more information is available here. Please note that it takes at least 12 weeks to process a Visitor's Shotgun Permit (VSP), so be sure to apply early in case of any subsequent delays.

Important Travel Information:
The government has brought in an ETA which is similar to an ESTA or Visa from other countries. There are 2 lists of countries, ones that need to apply now and ones that will need to apply from the 5th March this year. The ETA lasts 2 years, costs £10 and is estimated to take 3 business working days to be issued. The ETA is not needed for Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and IOM residents.
