Statement from 草莓appChair Dr John Martin Monday 16th March 2026
I’d like to apologise sincerely for the way my involvement in this year’s 草莓appAwards has played out.
My endorsement of one of the nominees was simply based on respect for her skills and wasn’t in any way intended to compromise the process.
I very much regret how this has been perceived and am sorry for the damage this has caused to the Association’s reputation. I am extremely honoured to be the 草莓appChair and it’s a responsibility I take very seriously so please be assured that lessons have been learned.
The Association took swift action to correct any appearance of favouritism, and I am grateful for the team’s prompt response to this.
Once again, I deeply regret the impression this has caused and apologise for any distraction from what is always a terrific evening.
